Layered Neutral Retreat

This home came to us as beautiful empty rooms, which is both a gift and a genuinely hard place to start. With no existing pieces to build around, the plan had to come first: how each room would be used, where people would actually sit, and what had to be bought in what order.

The palette stays close to neutral on purpose, so the work is carried by texture instead. Bouclé and linen against wood and iron, a canopy bed that gives a large bedroom a room-within-a-room, and window treatments that soften the glass without hiding the view.

Outside, the covered patio and pool deck were treated as real rooms rather than leftovers. Furniture there is scaled and grouped the same way it is indoors, which is what makes the whole house live larger than its floor plan.
