Dwelling Design, formerly Victoria Lane Design

Design that makes a house feel like a home you never want to leave

We help homeowners create spaces that feel refined, functional, cohesive and deeply lived in. Every project begins with how you actually live, then layers in the finishes, furnishings and details that make a home feel considered from the studs to the styled shelf.

Our interior design services span the full arc of a home, from new construction design consulting and remodel guidance through to finish selections, space planning, furnishing and styling. Whether you are building, renovating, or simply ready for your home to feel finished, we bring calm, expert guidance to every decision along the way.

New Construction Design Consulting

Design direction for a home being built from scratch, keeping layout, lighting, finishes and long lead orders ahead of the framing crew rather than behind it.

The value of guidance

Why working with a designer changes everything

The difference between a house that is merely finished and a home that feels considered is usually made early, in a hundred small decisions most homeowners face only once. A designer helps you see how those choices add up: how a layout supports the way you live, how finishes speak to one another, and how lighting and furniture turn rooms into places you love to be.

Thoughtful guidance protects both your budget and your peace of mind. Instead of costly second-guessing, you get a cohesive plan and a clear order of decisions, so every layer belongs to the same story from the very beginning.

  • Finish selections and material direction, coordinated as a whole rather than one room at a time.
  • Space planning and layouts shaped around how your household actually moves through a day.
  • Furniture planning and sourcing for pieces that fit the room and last beyond a trend cycle.
  • Lighting coordination planned with your builder and electrician before the walls close up.
  • Furnishing and styling that makes the finished home feel complete rather than nearly done.

How we work

A calm, considered path to a finished home

However we work together, the journey follows the same steady rhythm from first idea to final detail.

01

Discovery and Direction

We begin with a conversation about how you live, what you love, your timeline, and the feeling you want your home to have.

02

Design Guidance and Planning

We shape layout, space planning and overall direction, coordinating with your builder or contractor when there is one.

03

Selections, Furnishings and Details

Finish selections, material direction, lighting coordination, furniture planning and styling come together as one palette.

04

A Home That Feels Complete

Every layer is considered and installed, so you settle into a home that is refined, functional and unmistakably yours.

Good questions

Interior design services, answered

What services does Dwelling Design offer?

We offer residential interior design, new construction design consulting, remodel design consulting, furnishing and styling, finish and material selection, space planning and furniture planning, and interior design consulting. Across those services the work includes lighting coordination, material direction and final styling.

When should I bring in an interior designer for a new build?

As early as you can, ideally during the design phase and before framing. Early involvement lets us shape layout, lighting and finishes while changes are still easy and inexpensive. Joining mid-build still helps, but the cheapest decisions are always the earliest ones.

Can Dwelling Design help with a remodel?

Yes. Remodel design consulting gives you expert design guidance before and during a renovation, so finishes, layout and lighting stay cohesive and you avoid costly missteps. It works best when we are involved before you finalise the scope with a contractor.

Do you offer furnishing and styling on its own?

We do. Furnishing and styling includes furniture planning, sourcing, purchasing and install, along with the finishing touches that make a room feel complete. It can be part of a larger project or a focused service on its own.

How do I know which service I need?

Most people do not know, and that is fine. Start a conversation and describe the house and where you are in the process. We will tell you honestly which service fits, including when the lighter-touch consulting option is genuinely enough.

What areas does Dwelling Design serve?

We are based in Wenatchee, WA and serve Wenatchee, East Wenatchee, Lake Chelan, Leavenworth, Quincy and the Greater Pacific Northwest. If you are building, remodeling or furnishing a home in the region, we would love to hear about your project.
